Easter : Maintain Hope, Better Days Ahead- Comrade Ike To Journalists

Amidst the Current Challenges confronting the nation and journalism community, Chairperson of the House of Representatives Press Corps,Comrade Grace Ike has urged journalists to maintain hope, assuring them of better days ahead.

In a her message of hope and resilience to commemorate this year’s Easter Celebration in Abuja, Comrade Ike who is also the Vice Chairman of the FCT Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists emphasized the importance of resilience and optimism, especially during the Easter season.

She reflected on the essence of the holiday as a time of renewal and hope highlighting the significance of Easter as symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and the promise of a brighter future.

Addressing fellow journalists in Abuja and beyond, Comrade Ike acknowledged the various challenges they face, including resource constraints and threats to press freedom.

Despite these obstacles, she encouraged journalists to persevere and remain steadfast in their commitment to the profession.

Drawing inspiration from the Easter narrative, Comrade Ike emphasized the values of unity, truth, and integrity, stressing the vital role played by journalists in upholding these principles.

She also recognized the resilience of female journalists and their invaluable contribution to the profession.

Referring to the Gospel of John 11:25, Ike reflects on Jesus’ proclamation of himself as the source of eternal life and hope. She emphasized the symbolic role of women in the Easter celebration, citing their faith, perseverance, and resilience.

“As the first witnesses to Jesus’ resurrection, women exemplify the message of hope and salvation, embodying faithfulness and devotion despite challenges,” she noted.

Comrade Ike called on journalists to approach the future with optimism and determination, embracing the enduring values of Easter as they continue to fulfill their duty to inform the public and hold power accountable.
