The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, sports council Director, Mr. Luka Istifanus has acknowledge that the center of unity has stepped forward in sports development in the nations capital, mindless the minimum financial resources at their disposal.
Mr. Istifanus made this known on Monday 26th February, during a courtesy visit of some foreign basketball coaches to his office at the Sports Council, Area 3 Abuja as they talked about Leadership program; Sports in vocational training in the FCT.

Speaking on the growth of sports as regards to basketball, the FCT sports council Director said that 50 – 100 athletics have travelled from his office to the USA in the name of basketball.
“I want to believe if I am not wrong, over 50-100 have travelled from this office to the USA in the name of basketball, basketball alone. And we have them in hundreds that the paramilitary has come to recruit, the Road Safety, Civil Defense, Costumes and the rest.
That has always been our joy and the sport administrators, how are the sport members.”
Mr. Istifanus also applauded the foreign basketball coaches who paid the courtesy visit for their initiative and for also choosing Abuja as their destination for sports development as he urge for more support and promotion from them in FCT.
Speaking about the Leadership program; Sports in vocational training, Dozie mbanu a member of the imitative said it will help unlock the potential of leaders as well as equipping the youth in life skills.
“We are reminder of the immense potential that lies between young people. Our program is poise to unlock the potential fostering a generation of leaders, innovators and change makers, we recognize the feature belongs to the youth.”
Meanwhile, the convener Sports in vocational training, His Royal Highness Ifanyi Ake, said the plan is to develop all sports that involves children and are in FCT, as they will like to adopt a school so the can teach them sports for a long time and a short time progress, as they have taken two children out of the country.
“What we intend to do is to develop all sports that involves kids.
Not all kids will play professionally, what we are here to do, is to take the kids mature them in sports and still teach them vocations.”
The Leadership program; Sports in vocational training starts on Wednesday 26 February with different venues within FCT. as its purpose is to develop sports activities particularly basketball.
