Declare Health Status – FCTA To Intending Muslim Pilgrims

About 2,500 intending pilgrims have applied and also made initial payment for the 2024 Hajj.

To this end, Intending pilgrims hoping to perform this year’s hajj from the Federal Capital Territory, have been warned against the non-disclosure of ailments capable of creating health emergencies in the Holy land.

Director of the Board, Abubakar Evuti, who was speaking at a media briefing on arrangements for the 2024 exercise noted that while the performance of Hajj is a compulsory Islamic obligation, it does not compel people that have health challenges.

He enjoined intending pilgrims to make their health status known, as the board will not entertain any incident that will portray the FCT Administration in a bad light.

The director said the medical team has fully prepared to carry out a comprehensive screening and inoculation of intending pilgrims, to ensure that no ailments are concealed.

He equally revealed that while preparations have started in earnest, with the support of the FCT Ministers, Nyesom Wike, and Dr Mariya Mahmoud, the deadline for payment has been set for 12th February.

Evuti also stated that the Hajj fare has been increased from N4.5m, to N4.699m.

Evuti who said the board has begun orientation of intending pilgrims to the holy land, assured that the FCT Administration has made adequate provisions to ensure a hitch free hajj.
