The Federal Government has reiterated readiness to partner Saudi Arabia’s mining sector to optimise the industry’s contribution to the economy.

Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Oladele Alake made this known when he led a delegation of Nigerians to the Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Alake explained that the collaboration would drive investment in the sector and reduce the country’s dependence on oil through the exploitation of mineral resources.

On his part, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar AlKhorayef expressed satisfaction with the renewed focus on developing the nation’s mineral resources by President Tinubu’s administration.

The forum focuses on Creating Resilient and Responsible Mineral Value Chains in Africa, Western and Central Asia and had in attendance ministers from over seventy-seven countries to discuss challenges in the sector.
