The National Judicial Institute , NJI , has reiterated commitment towards effective administration of justice system in the country
The Administrator, NJI , Hon.Justice Babatunde Adejumo who made this known at the opening ceremony of National Workshop on Case Management for Judges of Lower Courts said the forum was targeted at promoting efficiency, uniformity and enhanced judicial services.
Represented by the Deputy Director Studies of the Institute, Hajiya Zainab Yetunde Salma ,she explained that case management remains one of thematic focus in partnership with National Center for State Courts , NCSC, on implementing strategic principles and tools for casement through training series.
She maintained that the decision to organize the capacity building initiative across the various judicial cadres reflects the critical importance of structured oversight within the court, stressing that beyond the administrative order, effective docket control serves as a vital benchmark for measuring individual judicial productivity towards sharpening public perception of judicial delivery.
Salma, emphasized that by internalizing the values of discipline and accountability while leveraging on modern innovations, there was a need to master coordinating available resources to guarantee the timely resolution of disputes.
She added that to enrich learning experience during the workshop, they have designed a framework to foster peer to peer engagement which allows participants to interact more closely.
“In alignment with this mission, the Education Committee of the Institute’s Board of Governors consistently advances topical engagements that directly influence the administration of justice”.
“Consequently, case management has emerged as one of our most prominent thematic focuses this year alongside a partnership with the National Center for State Courts (NCSC) on implementing strategic principles and tools for case management”.
“We have integrated a three-part training series on the subject into our curriculum and the present Workshop marks the second instalment in this series, with the final session for Court Staff scheduled for August”.
