todayJune 10, 2026

Background

The wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, has empowered over 200 women and vulnerable individuals in Lokoja/Koton-Karfe with cash grants and other items.

During the presentation at the palace of the Ohimegye Igu of Koton-Karfe, Hajia Sefinat Ododo highlighted that her initiative focuses on empowering women and supporting vulnerable citizens as vital components of her vision for building stronger, more unified, and economically resilient communities in Kogi State.

According to her, the program aims to alleviate the impact of economic hardship, strengthen small businesses, and promote social inclusion among disadvantaged members of society.

The Governor’s wife underscored the importance of women in the society, emphasizing that investing in their welfare leads to stronger families, peaceful communities, and sustainable development.

Hajia Sefinat Ododo emphasized the necessity of attending to society’s most vulnerable members, asserting that every citizen deserves dignity, care, and opportunities to prosper, regardless of their economic situation.

She also urged well-meaning Nigerians to assist government by supporting initiatives that create social safety nets and economic opportunities for vulnerable groups.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Salamatu Isah and Zainab Musa, expressed gratitude to the First Lady, describing the support as timely.

They noted that the ₦50,000 cash grants would aid in enhancing their small businesses, while the food items would alleviate financial burdens on their households.
