Tinubu Assures Investors.Of Nigeria’s Safety, Launches Experience Centre

todayJuly 16, 2026

Background

President Bola Tinubu has launched the Abuja City Walk Sales Office and Experience Centre, assuring both domestic and international investors that Nigeria remains a safe destination for investment .

Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the ceremony in Abuja, the President said the landmark development reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to economic transformation, infrastructure renewal and creating an enabling environment for private sector investment.

“Let me use this medium to reassure both domestic and international investors: Nigeria is open for business, and your investments are safe. Our legal, physical, and financial frameworks are continuously being optimized to protect capital, guarantee returns, and eliminate unnecessary administrative bottlenecks,” Tinubu said.

He said the unveiling of the Sales Office and Experience Centre marked the beginning of a multi-billion-dollar future for Nigeria.

“Today, we are not just opening a building. We are unveiling the window to a multi-billion-dollar future. We are presenting a tangible manifestation of our Renewed Hope agenda, sculpted in concrete, innovation, and unwavering determination.”

Tinubu said the Abuja City Walk project, located along the Abuja Airport Expressway corridor, is one of the most ambitious private sector investments in Nigeria’s history and would serve as the country’s gateway to the world.

He noted that although inspired by globally acclaimed developments such as Dubai City Walk, the project had been specifically designed to suit Nigeria’s unique needs and aspirations.

According to the President, the project demonstrates that sustainable national development can only be achieved through strong collaboration between government and the private sector.

He said the Federal Government’s decision to grant the corridor Free Trade Zone status would boost regional commerce, medical tourism, premium retail and high-end hospitality.

Tinubu also commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for reviving the long-abandoned Abuja Technology Village corridor through decisive land administration reforms.

“I must particularly commend the honorable minister of the FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for his dogged leadership and unwavering focus on execution. For 20 years, the Abuja Technology Village corridor lay dormant. Today, through aggressive land administration reforms and the eradication of bureaucratic inertia, it is being transformed into a bustling construction hub.”

He charged both the FCT Administration and the project’s developers to sustain the current momentum and ensure rapid construction of the development.

He added that beyond luxury residences, hotels and office towers, the project would create tens of thousands of jobs while stimulating economic activities across the FCT and neighbouring states.

The President added that his administration had ended the era of land speculation and abandoned projects in the nation’s capital by ensuring that land serves as a tool for development rather than speculation.

Earlier, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, said the project aligns with President Tinubu’s vision of attracting foreign direct investment and transforming Abuja into a globally competitive capital city.

He disclosed that the developers were introduced to the FCT Administration by the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Emem Usoro, after which the administration insisted on concrete commitments before approving the partnership.

“This particular place is supposed to have what they call the Technology Village, which has been here for over 30-something years.Of course, you know what happens: the agency concerned was renting it out, apportioning it out to people who are doing all kinds of things. In fact, land grabbers who had even forged land documents to claim ownership of this particular place. I put my foot down, and I said, ‘No, this is government property, and I must drive this development to come to FCT.'”

In his welcome address, Executive Director of Link Developments Master, City Walk, Dr. Kassim Gidado, described the commissioning of the Experience Centre as a major milestone in delivering the Abuja City Walk vision.

He noted that the master plan envisions a “city within a city” spanning 250 hectares, featuring a Google Tech Village, Knowledge Park with two universities, healthcare facilities, city walk malls, five-star hotels, exhibition centres, residential communities, parks, police and fire stations, places of worship and what is projected to become West Africa’s largest indoor multipurpose arena.

Gidado said the project aims to create a modern, climate-responsive and walkable mixed-use district where innovation, commerce, culture and community life converge, positioning Abuja as a leading destination for global investment and sustainable urban development.

The Abuja City Walk development is expected to feature luxury residences, five-star hotels, commercial facilities and leisure infrastructure, while creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs and strengthening Abuja’s position as a leading investment and tourism destination in Africa.
