Intelligence Gathering, A Potent Weapon To Tackle Security Threats – Audi

todayJune 5, 2026

Background

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi has called for drastic improvement of intelligence gathering across all formations of the Corps.

Delivering an address, at the NSCDC strategic quarterly meeting in Abuja, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, emphasized that the briefing serves as a vital platform to brainstorm on evolving security dynamics and chart actionable strategies to move the Corps forward.

The CG stressed that timely and actionable intelligence, channeled appropriately, remains the most potent weapon to confront and neutralize persistent security threats facing the nation.

“Collaboration, coordination, and cooperation are absolutely essential if we are to strategically respond to the threats bedeviling Nigeria’s corporate existence,” the CG stated.

He explicitly charged the participants, which included Deputy Commandants General (DCGs), Assistant Commandants General (ACGs), Zonal Commanders, and State Commandants, to foster closer synergy and work harmoniously with sister security agencies to ensure national stability.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Deputy Commandant General in charge of Technical Services, DCG Zakari Ibrahim Ningi explained that the high-level meeting was convened at the instance of the CG to critically reflect on the operational engagements of the Corps.

DCG Ningi commended the Commandant General’s foresight in institutionalizing the quarterly meetings, noting that the platform consistently yields workable solutions to contemporary security challenges.
