The Nigeria Immigration Service says four persons have been confirmed dead as a suspected terrorists group attacked border facilities and contractors on site at Kangiwa Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kenneth Udo says the attack which took place at the weekend claimed the lives of a local watchman and three contractors.
According to the statement, no Immigration officer was killed during the attack but the Service recorded substantial damages on its border facilities.
It states that the Nigeria Immigration Service remains steadfast in fulfilling its core mandate of border security, aligned with the objectives of enhancing national security.
The statement says the Service condoles with the families of the deceased stressing that the NIS is actively working alongside other sister security agencies to identify and apprehend those responsible for the heinous act and bring them to justice.
