Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Account, Bamidele Salam has congratulated Comrade Grace Ike on her election as Chairman of the National Union of Journalists, NUJ, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Chapter.
In a congratulatory letter, Salam describes Ike’s emergence as a well-deserved recognition of her professionalism, dedication, and outstanding contributions to journalism.
The Member Representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State, notes that her victory reflects the trust and confidence her colleagues have in her ability to lead one of the most vibrant and critical chapters of the NUJ.
He was of the opinion that Ike’s leadership, will undoubtedly propel the FCT NUJ towards even greater heights, upholding the principles of fairness, accountability, and truth in reportage.
To this end, he assures Ike of his unwavering support and collaboration, wishing her a successful tenure as she steers the union towards greater achievements.
Ike, the first female chairman of the FCT NUJ, has promised to revolutionize the council’s development programs, including the establishment of a journalists’ village.
She has also pledged to promote the welfare of members and facilitate capacity building.
