The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Olusola Odumosu, has deployed 5,000 personnel to beef up security in the FCT, before and during the Sallah celebration.
According to him, the deployment would cover all the nooks and crannies of the six (6) Area Councils as well as the city centre, especially sensitive locations, soft targets, black spots and flash points that are prone to criminal activities.
He warned miscreants, vandals and other mischief makers to keep off Critical National Assets and Infrastructure as the Corps will not hesitate to bring the full weight of the law on any one caught or found culpable.
The FCT commandant also charged personnel to be committed, vigilant, responsive and resolute in their avowed commitment to ensure a crime free environment, and a hitch free celebration devoid of any security breaches or threats.
He advised fun seekers to do everything in moderation and not take the laws into their hands in the name of Sallah celebration.
He stated that the command has deployed all the special forces such as the Armed Squad, Female Strike Force, Intelligence, Counter Terrorism Unit, Special Crack Squad (operation Adaka-su), Intelligence and Agro Rangers to ensure the maintenance of law and order.
