Security Of Nigs Lies Heavily On NIS – Olubunmi

The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubumi Tunji-Ojo says the security of Nigeria relies heavily on the performance of the Nigeria Immigration Service.

Dr Olubumi Tunji-Ojo stated this at the decoration of the newly appointed Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap in Abuja.

The Minister who expressed confidence in the capabilities of the new Comptroller General described her appointment by President Bola Tinubu as significant.

He charged her to ensure effective protection of the Nigerian borders.

”Your performance will be judged by how effectively you safeguard our borders, the security of Nigeria relies heavily on the Nigeria Immigration Service, I encourage you to be innovative and bring your qualifications and training to bear on your duties’ he said.

Responding, the new Comptroller General, Kemi Nandap thanked President Bola Tinubu for the confidence reposed in her to lead the Service and pledged her commitment to serve the nation with integrity.

” We are steadfast in our resolve to strengthen policies to prevent illegal migration, safeguard the lives of our citizens and foster positive bilateral relations, tightening border security will be a major focus to reduce the porosity of our borders and enhance overall national security ‘ Kemi Nandap said

Kemi Nanna Nandap took over as the nineteenth Comptroller General of Immigration from the immediate past Comptroller General Caroline Wuraola Adepoju who retired on the twenty-ninth of February this year.
