The NSCDC says it remains committed to the Federal Government’s Safe School Programme and will not allow any miscreant under any guise to breach the peace in the nation’s academic environment.

A statement by the FCT Command’s Public Relations Officer, Comfort Okomanyi says the claims by unscrupulous persons alleging the killing of two students of a Secondary School in Gwarimpa Abuja by NSCDC officials was false.

The statement explains that the NSCDC FCT Command was invited by the management of the said school for security coverage through a letter dated twenty first of November twenty twenty three and signed by the school principal, Mr Akinfolajimi Olayinka requesting the command to secure the school against criminal elements who always gain access to the school by jumping over the fence.

According to the statement, the school was invaded by some expelled students and their student collaborators to disturb and cause mayhem by destroying cars belonging to teachers.

It states that the hoodlums armed with cudgels and other dangerous weapons launched attack on staff, students and NSCDC personnel attached to the school which necessitated the call for a back up.

According to the statement, the NSCDC FCT commandant, Olusola Odumosu on receipt of the incident went on assessment tour and paid a visit to the two students who sustained injuries during the melee.

The statement urges the public to disregard the negative reports stressing that the Commandant General of NSCDC Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi in his avowed commitment to professionalism and transparency policing has set up a panel of inquiry to get to the root of the matter and would punish any personnel found wanting in the unfortunate incident.
