Some former Kogi State House of Assembly members have thrown their weight behind the candidacy of Mr Muritala Yakubu Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in the November 11th Governorship election.

Leader of the group, Simon Atadoga made this known at a news conference in Abuja.

Atadoga who said the group drawn from the three senatorial districts of the state believed that Ajaka has the capacity to re-position the state to its envious pride of place among other states in the Federation.

The former lawmakers likened Muritala Ajaka to the Biblical David with the courage of a lion and the resolve of a heart to salvage the people of Kogi state if voted into power.

He stressed that the group resolved to take the campaign to their various constituents across the state to ensure landslide victory for Ajaka.

“The people of kogi state are yearning for your coming. That has been loudly demonstrated in their reception and acceptance of your candidacy,” the group noted.

“All we are waiting for is the day of election come 11″ November, 2023 to translate these warm acceptance through the ballot box. And the day shall come with jubilation”.

“We implore you to remain dogged like you have been. The storm shall be over. We are proud of your resilience and tenacity. You have by so doing exemplified a rare leadership quality and inspired many and for which we are glad to be a part.

“We believe in your capacity in righting the wrongs done to the state and the people these past eight years by providing pro-people
administration and government to wipe away the flowing tears from the eyes of majority of Kogites.

“We believe you have the capacity to redeem the state and the people from squalor and make us proud again. These and many more, we believe can be achieved by engaging in noble objectives giving your experience and track records of excellence.”
