Ensure Challenges In Transport Sector Are Addressed – Lalong

Minister of Labour and Employment, Mr Simon Lalong has called on Union leaders to make concerted efforts towards achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration in the Transport Sector.

Addressing delegates at the Tenth Quadrennial conference of the National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW in Abuja, Mr Lalong said the Federal Government acknowledged the role of transportation in promoting socio economic activities.

Represented by the Director Trade Unions, Mr Amos Folanipe, the minister urged the new executive of NURTW to come together and ensure that the challenges in the nation’s transport sector is addressed once and for all.

President, International Transportation Federation for Africa, ITF Comrade Najeem Yasin tasked the new executives to run an open door policy and carry members in all States of the Federation along for peace to reign supreme in the union.

According to the ITF president, the union will regain its position in the global transport sector when there is unity in NURTW.

Comrade Najeem Yasin who was the former president of the NURTW called on state Chairmen to avoid activities that could bring disunity in the country.

The new Acting President of NURTW, Alhaji Isa Ore said the Union would commence Peaceful Dialogue to keep all members under one umbrella.

Alhaji Isa Ore Commended the various initiatives and Policies of the President Tinubu led administration and pledged the union’s support at all times.
