Interior Ministry To Establish Research Centers In Its Agencies

The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubumi Tunji-Ojo says he will ensure that all Agencies under the ministry have functional library and research centers to enhance educational growth and service delivery.

Dr. Olubumi Tunji-Ojo stated this at the Presentation of twelve books authored by the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi in Abuja.

The Minister who noted that the role of research in the enhancement of internal security cannot be overemphasized urged security personnel to invest massively in education to make an indelible mark.

According to him, for the country to tackle security threats adequate research and institutionalization of programmes aimed at providing solutions to the threats must be provided.

The minister stated that the battle ahead is more ideological than physical hence the need for more intellectualism.

The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu represented by Major General Raka said the books are critical to the nation’s present security challenges.

The Commandant General Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi in an address said the books were aimed at promoting national security, identifying security bridges and proffering solutions to security issues.

Dr Audi said publishing the books basically on security matters was his little way of contributing his quota to the society.

Of the twelve books, five were authored by the Commandant General and seven were co-authored by Professor Tyoor Terhemba.
