Analysts Task INEC On Logistics Towards Conduct Off Season Election

Inec has been urged to put in place proper logistics for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming election in Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa states.

Guests on Politics Today a kapital fm Current Affairs programme stated this while discussing INEC’s preparation for the November staggered election in Abuja.

One of the guests a political Analyst Mr Aliyu Ilyas said that INEC should have a back up logistics to address some recurring problem during the process of  election

“Looking at this three staggered election with Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa, Inec have come out and said that we have 5.4million people that will be in the election whereby they said that that Bayelsa 1m , Kogi 1.9 and Imo 2.4m but we have to look at the volatility in this area of election. And if Inec can conduct election in 28 state at the same time to conduct election in three state should not be a problem, the only challenge is that the is the logistics as to be top notch, the security has to be there to ease down tension during election. So what I will advise Inec to do is to have a backup plan”

Also on the programme the spokesperson to the Kogi state Social Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate Mr Frank Adejoh Audu who commended INEC for its preparation so far urged the electorates to protect their vote

“So far so good Inec has done what ever it feels it can do but we have to be vigilant . It happened ap lot of time that it is not enough that we gain vote by the electorate. We can not be totally dependent on Inec that is the reality of our system If you are popular and you get vote from the electorate you most also protect your votes so we will scrutinise every bit of what Inec does”

The guests therefore advised INEC to ensure free fair and credible polls.
