So far in 112 appearances for the Gunners, Odegaard  has scored 27 goals and contributed 15 assists.

The Norway captain featured 37 Premier League games last season as Mikel Arteta’s side finished runners-up to Manchester City.

On the extension of his contract Odegaard said;

“Signing a new contract was a really easy decision for me for lots of reasons. Mainly what we are doing right now as a club is special and I want to be a part of that.

I’m really excited for what’s to come here. I’ve found a place where I can be really settled and call my home

My story is a bit different maybe as I moved around different clubs since I was 16. At Arsenal, since the first day, I’ve felt great and this is definitely my home now.

I just want to say thanks to everyone working at the club and of course, our fantastic supporters. I will continue to give everything to bring success to this club in the years to come.”

Arsenal’s reigning player of the season joins the likes of, forward Bukayo Saka, defender William Saliba, goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and midfielder Reiss Nelson to commit long-term deals with the club this year.

Last season he scored 15 non penalty goals and contributed seven assist for the gurners.

On Arsenal’s return to the UEFA Champions League Odegaard was named the man of the match award.

This comes as a boost as Arsenal will be facing Tottenham on Sunday in a North London derby.
