In furtherance to securing the length and breadth of Nigeria and its territorial sovereignty for the nation’s economic growth, plans are underway by the Nigerian Army to redefine its training and operational activities for effective service delivery.
The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoheed Lagbaja stated this at the closing ceremony of the Chief of Army Staff combined Second and Third Quarter Conference in Abuja.
The General explained that the Conference had afforded the Army the platform to review its training, operational, and administrative activities that are directly related to national security to actualize desirable outcomes.
General Lagbaja explained that the briefs and presentations made during the conference have reinforced the tasks and depicted the challenges ahead of the Nigerian Army.
He further charged all formation Commanders to calibrate their strength to give a decisive blow to the nation’s adversaries.
General Lagbaja also reaffirmed the commitment and capability of officers and men of the Nigerian Army in ensuring a safe and secure environment for good governance and socio-economic development, in collaboration with sister agencies.
The Chief Of Army Staff also presented cheques to ten maiden beneficiaries of the Nigeria Army Personal Insurance Scheme to provide financial security and support to families of personnel, who died in active service.
According to him, the gesture was an expression of the Nigerian Army’s appreciation of the service and sacrifices of its personnel in defense of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation.
The Army Chief who expressed appreciation to the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria for his interventions in repositioning the Nigeria Army for optimal operational performance, pledged the unalloyed loyalty of officers to the Federal Government and constitution of Nigeria.
