NFF: SWAN Critical To Nigeria’s Football Development

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has assured its readiness to always partner the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in its resolve to take the football to greater heights in the country.

This assurance was given by Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, The NFF president on Thursday while hosting the leadership of National SWAN at the federation headquarters in Abuja.

Addressing the members of SWAN led by there president Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, Alhaji Gusau described Sports Writers as critical partners to sports, particularly football development.

While congratulating the new SWAN leadership, he also commended its Mr. Benjamin for taking steps towards ensuring a healthy and improved relationship with Sports Writers since his emergence to office.

Emphasised the need for Sports Writers to collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including the Nigeria Union of Journalists in carrying out its duties.

The NFF president used the opportunity to clarify that has no intention of witch-hunting anyone.

Adding his administration is rather committed to entrenching solid grassroots football development initiatives through the various state Football Associations.

The SWAN President, hailed the Gausa administration for its focused leadership and appointments of SWAN members in critical standing committees of the country’s football body.
