The All Progressives Congress, North Central Progressives Forum has attributed high poverty level in the Six States and the FCT of the region to non utilization of available resources to develop people.

The Convener of the forum Comrade, Ahmed Suleiman stated this when he led other leaders on a courtesy visit to the General manager of Kapital FM, Mrs Bukky Towuru in Abuja.

Comrade Ahmed Suleiman said over One Hundred available mineral resources in the region if well tapped could provide job opportunities for no fewer than Ten Million Youths and alleviate poverty in the region.

He maintained that the Four Dams in River Niger and Benue if well developed can be used for all year farming and power generation to address electricity problem in the entire Northern Region.

Comrade Ahmed Suleiman said the forum needs Kapital FM’s assistance in bringing to light the potential available that could be used for the realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s led administration..

He stressed that the group would work with political office holders both at the State and Federal levels on the need to fully utilize all abandoned mineral resources for economic diversification.

According to him, the manner at which foreigners are tapping the available resources if not checked poses a threat to the security of the country.

Responding, the General manager Kapital FM, Mrs Buky Towuru said the station was ready to work with positive minded people that are willing to support the present administration in achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The General manager emphasized that Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria would continue to educate and sensitize the people on government’s laudable programs and give voice to the voiceless in the society.

She pledged the station’s readiness to support the forum on ways to utilise available resources in the north central to address youth restiveness and insecurity in the region.
