Leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, have alleged that the former Governor of the State, Nyesom Wike is not responsible for the impressive growth of the party in the State.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Rivers State APC Publicity Secretary, Mr. Darlington Nwauju in Abuja.
The statement says the formation and growth of APC in the state took the efforts of several loyal members, who mostly lost their lives in the struggle to ensure a solid party structure in the state.
It explains that APC’s growth had been organically steady since 2015 when it came on board.
The statement maintains that the party surpassed its votes of 2015 during the 2019 elections, when Mr. Wike was governor on the ticket of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to the statement Rivers State APC Publicity Secretary expresses optimism that with the combined efforts of party technocrats in Rivers, along with the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, there would be significant progress in the nation’s growth.
