The Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, has distributed over five hundred empowerment materials to residents within the various wards of the councils
The Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council, Christopher Maikalangu said the empowerment was aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged and people living with disabilities.
Maikalangu, noted that the action was part of his commitment to enhance productivity, discourage laziness and other social vices amongst residents especially the youths.
He also stressed that the essence of the empowerment scheme was to encourage youths to engage in meaningful ventures to earn legitimate income for self reliance.

The AMAC Boss however urged the beneficiaries to put into proper use the items received for self development.
Items distributed were: 20 sewing machines, 12 wheel chairs, 30 crouches, 12 Air Pressure Machines, 24 sets of football jerseys, 48 footballs, 20 wheel barrows, 50 shovels, 50 rakes, 25 barbing clippers, Exercise Books for L.E.A Primary Schools and 3 table tennis boards for the three town halls in AMAC.
