A Socio -Political Group, Odinmma Ndi – Ebonyi has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to prevent any form of tampering with its BVAS report on the 2023 General Election.
The Coordinator of the Group, Dr. Laz Eze made the call while speaking with newsmen in Abuja.
Dr. Eze said the call became necessary to give credibility to various election petitions currently being handled at the Election Courts most especially as it regards the Ebonyi South Senatorial District.
He stressed the need for all politicians to avoid acts detrimental to the development of the nation’s democracy.
The Coordinator who expressed confidence in the Election Petition Tribunal to deliver on its mandate urged legal practitioners to be God fearing in the discharge of their duties.
Also speaking, one of the Leaders of the Group, Maazi Moses Idika urged the new Inspector General of Police to investigate all allegations that may arise from the INEC BVAS report on the 2023 General Election.
Maazi Idika who expressed concern over the attitude of some politicians enjoined the judiciary to sustain its credibility while delivering judgement at the Election Courts.
While describing democracy as the best form of Government, Mazi Idika advised Media Professionals to resist being used by selfish politicians to steal the people’s mandate.
He expressed the hope that with the collective support of all stakeholders, the nation’s democracy would soon be strengthened towards ensuring good governance in the country.
Maazi Idika also called on Nigerians to always demand for good governance from their leaders towards enhancing national development.
