Mohammed Kasim of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, has been declared winner of the Chairmanship election in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory. Announcing the results in Gwagwalada Abuja, the Returning Officer, Prof. Philip Akpen of the University of Abuja said Mohammed Kasim scored 22,165 votes to defeat his closest rival, Usman Yahaya of the All Progressives Congress, APC who polled 17,788 votes.
