FCT : First Call Aid Foundation Donates ₦12m Medical Equipment To 6 Hospitals

todayDecember 8, 2025

Background

In order to improve emergency response in hospitals, a humanitarian organization, First Call Aid Charitable Foundation, dedicated to expanding access to quality healthcare, has donated medical equipment valued at more than ₦12 million to six hospitals in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Chairperson of the Foundation, Mrs. Khadijat Fashina, made this known when he visited Abaji General Hospital in Abuja to make donations of medical equipment.

Mrs Fashions said the donation is targeted at improving emergency response, strengthening maternal health services, and boosting patient care, is an initiative that reflects the foundation’s mission to bridge healthcare gaps in underserved communities.

She noted that general hospitals remain a priority due to the large number of patients they serve and the increasing demand for emergency interventions.

Fashina said the foundation has already made remarkable impact within 12 months, donated 230 dialysis kits, 150 trauma kits, 100 surgical kits, 100 maternity kits, and 130 antenatal chairs to leading hospitals including the National Hospital, Gwarinpa General Hospital, Garki Hospital, Karimoh District Hospital, and Wuse District Hospital

She added that the foundation has supplied critical equipment such as infant incubators, defibrillators, blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, infrared thermometers, nebulizers, oxygen regulators, and other essential tools required for emergency and maternal services.

Also, through its zakat fund, the foundation has helped indigent patients settle medical bills, bringing its total support for the year to approximately ₦12 million.

Fashina emphasized the persistent healthcare challenges in rural and suburban communities like Abaji, reaffirming the foundation’s resolve to tackle equipment shortages and improve patient outcomes.

She encouraged more Nigerians to partner with the foundation through donations, sponsorships, and volunteerism.

“Our goal is to ensure that lifesaving equipment reaches those who need it most,” she said. “We appreciate everyone who has supported us. Nigerians are always willing to help when they encounter trustworthy organizations, and we remain committed to transparency and integrity.”

Receiving the items on behalf of Abaji General Hospital, Medical Director Dr. Victor Molokwu, represented by Acting Medical Director, Dr. Babafemi Aransiola, commended the foundation for the timely intervention.

He described the gesture as a significant boost to the hospital’s capacity to serve patients, especially those unable to afford medical care.

Molokwu revealed that he had personally attempted to procure supplies for vulnerable patients but was hindered by rising costs, adding that the foundation’s donation came purely as an act of charity.

He appealed to other well-meaning Nigerians and organizations to support similar efforts, stressing the urgent needs in many communities.

Founded in 2019 to enhance emergency response in hospitals, the First Call Aid Charitable Foundation continues to demonstrate the transformative impact of targeted healthcare interventions across the FCT.
