The MSECB, a leading international provider of Audit and Certification Services has granted the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC, three ISO certifications.

This is contained in a statement by the Director, of Communication & Public Affairs, NDIC, Bashir Nuhu.

The statement explains that the certifications were on the Information Security Management System that rates the NDIC on how it manages and protects information assets so that they remain safe and secure, using a robust framework.

It notes that the second certification is on the Information Technology Service Management System which rates how the NDIC has ensured effective and resilient services in today’s changing service delivery environment.

The statement says that the third certification is on the Business Continuity Management System, which shows the ability of the NDIC in the management of systems to protect against, reduce the likelihood of, and ensure businesses recover from disruptive incidents.

It adds that the certifications followed a rigorous and independent audit exercise confirming that the NDIC complies with the requirements for the three standards.

The NDIC says in line with its vision to be one of the best deposit insurers in the world, it will continue to offer excellent services consistent with international standards and best practices to ensure that the current achievement is duly sustained.

The ISO is an independent, non-governmental international organization that brings together experts from around the world to develop voluntary, consensus-based, market-relevant International Standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.

The certification is also a three-year, multi-layered process that begins with an initial certification in the first year, followed by two surveillance audits over two years.
