Bwari Chairman Elect Backs Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election Bid

todayMarch 3, 2026

Background

The newly elected Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Joshua Ishaku has pledged total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

He gave the assurance while receiving the FCT Minister, Dr Nyesom Wike, who visited Bwari to thank residents for their massive support for the APC in the just concluded Area Council Election.

The Chairman declared that Bwari would support the Government of Asiwaju to ensure that the renewed hope mandate is restored” come 2027.

“Just like others have said, come 2027, we in Bwari Area Council will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the renewed mandate is restored. Thank you very much. We know that, as promised, you will return to build more roads, more schools, more hospitals, and continue the development of Bwari.”

He commended the Minister for what he described as visible developmental strides across the FCT within two years in office.

According to him, the people can “see, feel and touch” the impact of governance under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Chairman appreciated the Minister’s humility, noting that while the council was preparing to pay him a thank-you visit, he instead came personally to appreciate the people.

He appealed to the Minister, fondly called “Mr. Project,” to further develop Bwari with more roads, schools and hospitals.

In his remarks, the FCT Minister, Dr Nyesom Wike, promised timely completion of the Bwari–Kubwa Road project this year.

He urged residents to remain united and steadfast ahead of the 2027 senatorial election.

The Minister appealed for the election of a candidate grounded in grassroots governance, one with access to those in authority and capable of making demands for the people.

He cautioned residents against politicians who, according to him, pretend to be grassroots by “buying and eating corn along the road” to deceive Nigerians.”

“The people of Bwari thank you for coming out under this sun to receive us. May God continue to bless you.

“Your time has come. Because Joshua has come. Anything you ask through Joshua, consider it done.”

“And I did say, under the government of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu we will give Bwari the necessary support.”

“Will you allow yourself to be deceived again? I have said, and I want to say clearly again, we have no business sending somebody to the Senate who does not understand what the people want.”

“We are not going to send people who only read love magazines.
We will send people who understand the people of Bwari .”

The visit forms part of the Minister’s tour of Area Councils to appreciate FCT residents for their support during the election.
