KAA Gent forward Gift Orban has been given a two match ban for his red card after in his club’s 2-1 victory over KAS Eupen on Sunday.
Orban was also fined €1,500 as part of the sanction.
The 21-year-old received a straight red card a minute before the break for punching an opponent.
He shoved Rune Paeshuyse in the neck during an off the ball incident, the referee confirmed the red card after a review by VAR.
This is the first time the striker will be sent off in 57 professional games.

The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office ruled that it involved “physical misconduct”, and more specifically “a brutal push with high intensity”.
According to the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office, that clean criminal record works to his advantage.
He will serve one match suspension, while the other will be postponed.
Gent are expected to respond to the verdict not later than Tuesday (today).
The Nigeria international will miss the Buffalos league match against Royal Antwerp on Wednesday.
He is expected to return to action against RWD Molenbeek on Sunday.
Orban has been having a tough time in recent weeks, struggling with form and injuries, having missed the Super Eagles tie with São Tomé and Príncipe in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and not scoring in his last five matches for Gent.
