Sowore Emerges AAC Presidential Candidate

Human rights activist and former Presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has emerged as the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), declaring that Nigeria needs a political system to end corruption, insecurity, inequality, and elite domination.

Speaking during the AAC presidential primary election in Abuja, Sowore described the AAC as Nigeria’s genuine registered socialist party committed to delivering dividends of democracy to all Nigerians by tackling the numerous challenges bedeviling Nigeria.

“We are not here to have a seat at the table. “We are here to shatter the table from which Nigerians have long been subjected to neo-colonial policies designed to keep us as second-class humans.”

“I Will put a stop to privatizing national security, empowering oligarchs, and implementing “copy-and-paste” economic policies dictated by the IMF and World Bank while ordinary Nigerians suffer hunger, unemployment, and insecurity.

According to him, insecurity in Nigeria is rooted in extreme inequality and economic exclusion.

“When a few people take everything and leave millions of energetic young people without jobs, hope, or a future, they become easy recruits for forces of destruction,” he said.

Sowore vowed that an AAC government would dismantle monopolies, nationalize strategic sectors, and prosecute corrupt elites.

“You steal our future, we steal your freedom. It is that simple,” he declared.

A major highlight of his speech was the unveiling of four people-driven economic models designed to replace what he termed Nigeria’s “dwindling Economy.”

The first, the Orange Economy, focuses on empowering youths through entertainment, technology, sports, digital innovation, arts, and culture.

The Purple Economy, he explained, is aimed at women’s economic liberation through expanded access to finance, education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and land ownership.

The Blue Economy would harness Nigeria’s waterways and aquatic resources for transportation, clean energy, agriculture, industrialization, and environmental restoration.

Meanwhile, the Green Economy would prioritize renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, climate-conscious industrialization, and ecological protection.

He also announced that the AAC and the #RevolutionNow movement is committed to ending “tyranny, oppression, corruption, exploitation, and the destruction of Nigeria’s future.”

“The struggle continues. Victory is certain,” Sowore added.
