Abbas Announces Re-Election Bid, Lists Constituency Achievements

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, has declared for his fifth-term bid to return to the House of Representatives to represent Zaria Federal Constituency of Kaduna state.

At a declaration ceremony at the Mallawa Eid Ground, Zaria, the Speaker said his representation has attracted many democratic dividends to the Zaria Federal Constituency of Kaduna State.

Dr. Tajudeen who joined the Green Chamber in 2011, was welcomed by thousands of his supporters at the declaration venue and embarked on a solidarity walk through major streets of Zaria City.

The Speaker, during the declaration reeled out several developmental constituency projects he attracted to Zaria, which includes the establishment of the Education City project in Zaria, a development valued at about N80 billion and a Scholarship Programme to about 30,000 students valued at N5 billion.

‎On infrastructure, Dr. Tajudeen said he embarked on a rural access project and connected communities through roads and bridges.

He said in the 10th Assembly, the House introduced and considered more than 2,000 bills, with more than 180 bills passed and over 50 already signed into law.

‎On healthcare, the Speaker said he worked to improve access for ordinary people across the constituency and beyond to have access to primary healthcare centres across communities.

‎“Just last week, we commissioned the newly completed 100-bed Specialist Hospital, facilitated through our constituency intervention efforts, with the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This is in addition to broader investments we have continued to support in healthcare infrastructure to improve access, strengthen service delivery, and raise the quality of care available to our people.”

‎“These are not theories. These are visible projects. These are measurable results, the Speaker stated, adding that the constituency projects have empowered the constituents and changed the lives of his people.

‎The Speaker explained that his declaration to return to the House is not based on promises alone but hard work and results of his representation of Zaria Federal Constituency and as the Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives
