NDC Determined To Build A Formidable Structure In Imo – Uwakwe

The Imo State chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has begun an aggressive push to entrench its presence across the state.

At its inaugural meeting, the State Chairman, Mr. Reginald Uwakwe, declared that although the party was only recently registered, the NDC leadership is determined to quickly build a formidable structure in Imo through a statewide membership mobilisation campaign.

He announced that the national leadership has mandated every ward in Imo to register a minimum of 300 members, urging ward officers to distribute printed forms and circulate the party’s online registration link to accelerate the process.

Uwakwe added that a NIN or voter’s card is required for new members signing up through the online portal.

To strengthen coordination, the chairman stated that two key bodies-the Contact and Mobilisation Committee and the Finance Committee—would be activated immediately as part of the nationwide directive.

Uwakwe reaffirmed that the Imo chapter is working to fully establish functional NDC structures at the ward, local government, and zonal levels, positioning the party for stronger grassroots penetration as it continues to expand.

On his part, the South East National Vice Chairman of the NDC, Chief Teddy Obey, urged all officers to lead by example by registering online and mobilising residents, especially women and young people, whom he described as crucial to the party’s growth.

He encouraged the interim executive to work wholeheartedly for the party, assuring them that their dedication would be recognised.

Also speaking, the State Women Leader, Mrs. Uche Judith Ngozi, expressed satisfaction with the increasing interest in the party and pledged to use her political experience to advance its progress in the state.
