Kogi : 250 PWDs Benefit From RHI N200,000 Business Grant

Two hundred and fifty Persons Living with Disabilities in Kogi State have benefited from the Two Hundred Thousand Naira Business Capitalisation Grant of the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI.

Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu disclosed this in Government House, Lokoja during a programme to commemorate this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who was represented by the Wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajiya Sefinat Ododo called for deeper national commitment to empowering Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), in the Country.

Mrs Tinubu stated that the Renewed Hope Initiative is providing the sum of two hundred thousand naira Business Capitalisation Grant to two hundred and fifty Persons with Disabilities in each state and the Federal Capital Territory to support small business owners to recapitalise their existing businesses and strengthen their means of livelihood.

She urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity by ensuring the money becomes a seed that grows into something greater.

Executive Secretary, Kogi State office for disability affairs, Mallam Nazeem Yakub, appreciated the implementation of financial support for PLWDs, which he described as a compassionate programme of Senator Tinubu to put smiles on the faces of members of the association.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Idris Suleiman expressed gratitude to Mrs Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Initiatives for extending economic empowerment support to Persons with Disabilities despite the current economic challenges in the country.
