Deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Benjamin Kalu says the significant role the late former Governor of Anambra state in the third republic, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife played in nation building can never be erased in the political architecture of the country.
Benjamin Kalu who was represented by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Tordue Umah made the call in Abuja, at the memorial public presentation of the book titled: Constitutional Law, Politics and Good Governance; an interdisciplinary text in honour of Late Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife.
He said the late Icon has played pivotal roles marked by vision and courage, championing a think home advantage inspiring investment in Anambra state catalyzing industrialisation and facilitating the upgrade of the present Nnamdi Azikiwe University and Federal Polytechnic Oko, into a Federal status been an enduring legacy in education and economic empowerment.
“It’s a great pleasure to honour a Statesman, Economist, Nationalist and a beacon of principled leadership whose humble beginning from Harvard university as a trained economist, Permanent Secretary and first civilian Governor of Anambra state is a testament to resilience, intellect and passionate service to Nigeria”.

” As a bridge builder and advocate for justice, he stood for credible elections, good governance for unity of Nigeria and his life was a lesson of integrity, humility in pursuit of a just society for all.”
“His book Constitutional Law, Politics and Good Governance mirrors the ideals for which Late Dr Ezeife lived, and the book is divided into two major parts Constitutional Law and Policies of Good Governance with 41 chapters put together by eminent scholars each dissecting the pillars of constitutionalism, rule of law and democratic governance in Nigeria.
On his part, the Chairman of the occasion and the first National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Chief John Odigie Oyegun, described late Dr Ezeife as a man of principle, discipline who has contributed immensely to the political structure of the South Eastern part of the country and Nigeria at large.
” Ezeife was a wonderful friend with a heart of gold we were recruited into the Federal Civil Service same time few years after independence and we made it even into position of Permanent Secretaries. We were full of ideas, and there are days we have to sleep in the office just to get the work done in service to national development, Oyegun, “added.
Earlier, the Etsu of Nupe in Niger State Brig. Gen Yahaya Abubakar (Rtd) said that late Dr Ezeife was a well-known nationalist, philanthropist who contributed significantly to economic development, especially in the educational sector and other sectors.
Abubakar, described the Late Dr Ezeife as a leader per excellence devoid of any form of tribal descrimination or nepotism who united people irrespective of ethnicity, tribal and religious differences .
On her part, the son of the deceased Chukwuemeka Ezeife described his late Father as an unbiased and wonderful father to all who has impacted significantly in the lives of people with his wealth of experience and expecially through his foundation “The Ezeife Leadership Foundation” which caters for the needs of the less privileged in the country.
Chukwuemeka, however, commended all the speakers for their good will messages and enjoined the political class and well-meaning Nigerians to live a life worthy of emulation to foster unity, peace and progress of the country for national development
