10th NASS Committed To Delivering People Oriented Constitution – Kalu

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Benjamin Kalu, has assured Nigerians that the 10th National Assembly is committed to delivering a people-oriented Constitution.

Kalu who is also the Chairman, House Committee on the Review of the 1999, Constitution gave the assurance at the end of a two-day retreat organized by the House of Representatives Committee on Constitution Review in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Levinus Nwabughiogu, Kalu says the committee reviewed, rectified, and voted on over 151 bills referred to it by the House, categorized into thematic areas such as federal structure and power devolution, local government autonomy, public revenue, fiscal federation, revenue allocation, electoral and judicial reforms, Gender

The Lawmaker also urges his colleagues to remain committed to the task, despite challenges, and to continue working together to make the dream of a people-oriented constitution a reality.
