Stakeholders at a town hall have advocated value reorientation, tackling corruption in all sectors, revitalizing public schools and teacher training, strengthening institutions, as possible solutions towards addressing societal decay in Nigeria.
The stakeholders also advised government to make jobs available, create an enabling environment for entrepreneurs and always give priority to the plight of the masses in policy decisions and implementation.
The meeting which held at the National Orientation Agency, NOA headquarters in Lokoja had in attendance Director General, National Orientation Agency as well as stakeholders across all sectors.
In a remark, Chairman Jama’atu Nasrul Islam, Kogi State Chapter, Ambassador Usman Bello emphasized the need for continuity in policy implementation so as to fully grasp their benefits.
On his part, a Retired Director of Education, Malam Zubair Abubakar Isah harped on curbing corruption and malpractices in the education sector through strict punitive measures.
Elder David Onile advocated revitalization of the National Orientation Agency so as to effectively deliver on its mandate.
Addressing the stakeholders, Director General, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Malam Lanre Issah Onilu decried the over reliance on foreign values by the country which he said was causing more harm than good.

The Director General disclosed that the agency was developing a values charter for citizens so as to establish a sound value system for the nation.
Earlier, Acting State Director, National Orientation Agency, Mr Patrick Edogbanya said the townhall was to interface with the stakeholders to find lasting solutions to the challenges bedeviling the country.
Mr Edogbanya used the event to highlight several initiatives by the NOA under the leadership of Malam Lanre Issah Onilu.
