The Nigeria Armed Forces has vowed to continue its onslaught on terrorists and criminal elements to ensure all kidnapped victims across the country are safely rescued.

The Director, Defence Media Operations,
Major General Edward Buba, affirmed this commitment while addressing newsmen on the activities of troops in various operational zones across Nigeria over the past week.

According to him troops in their various theatres of operation across the country, have not relented in their efforts geared towards defeating terrorist groups across the nation, as well as dismantling their military capabilities to ensure the safety of citizens.

Speaking on the
recent incidents of abductions in the Northeast, Northwest, and Northcentral, General Buba explained that these abductions were perpetrated by ruthless terrorist groups.

He underscored the urgent need to address these entities as terrorists, not bandits and assured that the military will ensure the safe release of the abductees.

The Director, Defence Media Operations stated that despite the challenges posed by the hostage situation, the military is leveraging international partnerships for support and intelligence to win the war against insecurity.

General Buba highlighted that in latest operations, troops have neutralized 213 terrorists and arrested 216 others.

Additionally, 67 perpetrators of oil theft have been apprehended, and 26 kidnapped hostages have been rescued.

He urged
Citizens to exercise caution regarding information from terrorist groups and their sympathizers, particularly on social media platforms, noting that the dissemination of propaganda and misinformation tends to undermine national security interests and must be resisted.
