Monarch Tasks Corporate Organizations On Boosting Community Health

The Emir of Jiwa in the Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Idris Musa has called on Corporate organizations and Wealthy individuals to complement Government’s effort at enhancing health status of rural dwellers.

Alhaji Idris Musa who made the call during a Free Medical Outreach organized by the FCT Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC and the Road Safety Officers Wives Association in Jiwa, Abuja said the gesture would help to check maternal mortality and other deadly diseases at the rural areas.

The Emir maintained that the traditional institutions had resolved to provide necessary support for programs and initiatives that would enhance living standard of the people in their domains.

He commended the FRSC for introducing home grown initiatives to check the excesses of motorists along Dei Dei – Gwagwa Idu – Karmo routes with high volume of vehicular movement.

FCT Sector Commander, Mr Muta’a Chorrie said the initiative was to strengthen FRSC’s relationship with the general public.

 

According to him, the free medical outreach will provide ample opportunity for FRSC to build cordial relations with rural dwellers to seek their support towards inculcating good driving culture in the people.

The sector Commander noted that the initiative would be extended to other local and semi urban areas including major motor parks to ascertain the health status of motorists.

Mr Chorrie however appealed to road users to always abide by traffic rules, in the city center and support efforts at bringing sanity to FCT roads.

President, Road Safety Officers’ Wives Association, Hajia Aisha Dauda Ali-Biu said the program was aimed at providing primary health Care services and promoting good health as well as treatment of diseases.

FRSC,Road safetyShe said a medical team from the Special Marshal Unit has promised support for the success of the program as part of its social responsibility to the society.

In a goodwill message, the Secretary, Abuja Municipal Area Council Mr. Jafar Gwagwa said the council was ready to partner any organization that wishes to bring health Care services to the door steps of rural dwellers.

He urged other para military organizations to emulate the kind gesture of FRSC to make life more meaningful to the down trodden in the society.

Drugs and other consumables were administered and distributed Free to residents while the Emir of Jiwa directed that all village heads and traditional title holders must present themselves for the medical check.
