As part of measures to further enhance women inclusion in governance, a training has been organized for Civil Society Organizations, CSOs in Abuja.

The training will also strengthen organizations towards effecting positive changes in their communities.

According to the Convener of the training, Theresa Effa, the aim of the training is also to build skills of participants in advocacy and leadership on issues relating to women and the girl child towards bridging gender inequality in the country.

Effa stressed the need for the 35 per cent affirmative action adding that women contribute to national development due to their presence in all sectors of the country.

A facilitator at the training, Dr Aboki Nanani called for more concerted efforts to promote women and girls empowerment.

Some participants called for more programmes that would make women self reliant.

The training drew participants from Nasarawa, Kaduna Rivers and the Federal Capital Territory.
