The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, PSC and retired Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase has highlighted the invaluable contributions of women within the Commission.

This is contained in a statement by
the Head of Press and Public Relations, of the Commission Ikechukwu Ani, in Abuja.

Recognizing their dedication and selfless service, as the world marks International Women’s Day, Arase emphasized the need to celebrate and honor the strength and resilience displayed by PSC women in their commitment to improving policing in Nigeria.

Dr. Arase underscored the significance of this year’s UN theme, “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” by announcing initiatives aimed at supporting working mothers within the Commission.

He revealed the establishment of a creche at the PSC Corporate Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, to provide nursing mothers with the opportunity to balance work responsibilities with childcare.

Furthermore, Dr. Arase expressed the Commission’s commitment to exploring additional avenues to facilitate a conducive working environment for women.

He urged PSC women to remain steadfast in their service and encouraged them to defy stereotypes and discrimination, aligning with this year’s campaign theme, ‘Inspire Inclusion.’

Dr. Arase urged women to stand tall, shine brightly, break barriers, and set new standards as they continue to excel in their roles within the Commission and the nation at large.
