Chef Arrested For Masterminding Kidnap Of Employer’s Son

In a shocking turn of events, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command has apprehended a domestic worker, Ulagu Philemon Chukwuma, aged 29 for orchestrating the abduction of his employer’s 12-year-old son, Justin Nwakwo.

According to a statement by the
Public Relations Officer of the Command, Josephine Adeh the incident, occurred on February 10, in Jabi, Abuja.

The statement explains that Philemon, employed as a Chef by the Nwakwo family, was arrested by officers from the Utako Police Divisional Headquarters, who were conducting thorough investigations to rescue the kidnapped boy and capture the culprits.

According to police reports, Philemon confessed to colluding with an accomplice, Donald Arinze, who is currently evading arrest, to execute the heinous act.

The duo managed to extort a staggering sum of three million, nine hundred thousand naira (₦3,900,000) in ransom from the victim’s father before law enforcement agencies intervened.

The statement adds that, swift police action led to the safe recovery of young Justin, who was reunited with his parents and the ransom money successfully retrieved by the officers.

In response to this alarming incident, Commissioner of Police for the FCT, CP Benneth Igwe, reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents within the Territory.

CP Igwe also urged citizens to collaborate with the law enforcement by thoroughly vetting their domestic staff and reporting any suspicious activities.
