FCT NAWOJ Postpones Election, Institutes Caretaker Committee

A Caretaker Committee has been inaugurated to run the affairs of the National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, FCT Council.

This followed the suspension of its election which was scheduled to hold on Saturday twentieth of January twenty twenty four.

Inaugurating the Committee at the NAWOJ National Secretariat in Abuja, the National President of the Association, Aisha Ibrahim said the leadership would uphold core ethics of journalism by shunning all forms of conduct inimical to the corporate image of NAWOJ.

The NAWOJ President while expressing optimism that the Caretaker Committee would douse the tension the postponed election, enjoined members to work assiduously to deliver a credible election devoid of malpractices .

Speaking on behalf of the caretaker committee, the chairperson, Oluwakemi Kindness pledged to justify the confidence reposed in them to deliver on the mandate within the stipulated time frame.

Members of the committee include Aminat Khadija, Elizabeth Kashan, Hadiza Ndadama and Radio Nigeria’s Nkiru Njemanze.
