The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ACCI, has commended the contributions of the nation’s Armed Forces towards the protection of lives and property in the country.

This is contained in a statement in Abuja by the President of ACCI, Dr Emeka Obegolu to commemorate this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Dr. Obegolu who paid tribute to fallen heroes called for support for their families towards giving them a sense of belonging in the country.

“On this 15th January 2024 Nigerian Armed forces Remembrance Day, the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ACCI, honours the courage, selfless service and unwavering dedication of our Armed Forces even in the face” of daunting challenges” he said.

In his words “women and men of our Armed Forces have given their lives to protect and preserve our nation, our democracy and our way of life. They have incurred injuries and placed themselves in harm’s way to ensure that schools, markets, religious institutions and businesses are able to remain open and function — they have helped in our safety and freedom as a nation.
They are patriots and deserve our respect, honour and support”.

According to him, the ACCI remains an Armed Forces Friendly Institution, AFFI, today as always.

Dr. Obegolu therefore prayed God to protect the nation’s troops noting that the Chamber
understands the difficulties and heart break suffered by families whose loved ones died in service to the country.

“The ACCI will never forget and we call on the nation to support these families and honour the memory of their loved ones and as our Armed Forces continue to lay their lives on the line to protect our nation and defeat our enemies, we will continue to honour, support and encourage them and their families” the ACCI President added.
