Bwari Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC has involved traditional and religious leaders in its campaign strategy to have effective traffic management during Christmas and new year celebrations.

The Unit Commander, Mr Shehu Koko who stated this while speaking on the ongoing Ember Months Campaign in Bwari said involvement of these leaders had helped in checking the excesses of motorcycle and tricycle operations which has been a major concern in the area.

Mr Koko said adequate personnel have been deployed to all identified flash points while the hours for Christmas special patrol would be extended to late evening.

According to him, issues of one way driving, road side commercial activities and lack of adherence to traffic rules usually occur at night in most of the major roads in the area

.

The Bwari Unit Commander stressed that the corps was collaborating with the military for necessary security back up to ensure successful night patrol.

He maintained that the unit command had also sought the assistance of Bwari Hospital Management Board for prompt medical attention during emergencies.

He assured that the newly activated FRSC Accident Emergency Post at Jigo, Bwari would be operational twenty four hours during the Christmas and new year celebrations.

Mr Koko however appealed to Road users particularly cattle dealers, commercial drivers and motorcycle and tricycle operators to always abide by traffic rules and regulations as personnel of the FRSC would be in constant patrol to ensure the safety of travellers using the Bwari – Jere route as exit and entry points to the North Western part of the country.
