The NSCDC Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad has arrested five suspects conveying large quantities of suspected illegally refined and adulterated AGO, at Obah Agwa Autonomous Community, Oguta Ohaji LGA of Imo State.
A statement by the Corp’s Public Relations Officer, Babawale Afolabi says
the suspects were in four saloon cars with the illegally refined AGO, tied in twin cellophane bags in sacks.
According to the statement, Preliminary interrogation conducted at the point of arrest reveals that they usually buy the product Iat Abacheke Axis of Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State before onward distribution to Onitsha, Anambra state and its environs.
The suspects, David Thankgod Orokpo, “M” 28yrs from Kogi State, Alex Okafor Chigozie, “M”, 28yrs from Anambra State, Ngwoli Kingsley Chiechefulam, “M”, 35yrs from Imo State, Johnson Essien Unyime, “M”, 29yrs from Akwa Ibom State, and David Gregory Akombo, “M”, 28yrs from Benue State.
The statement says the five suspects and four impounded salon cars containing the products have been handed over to the Commandant, NSCDC Imo State Command for investigation and prosecution.
