Nigerians have been urged to inculcate the habit of thanking God for keeping the country together despite the challenges.

Reverend Tom Takpatore of First Baptist Church Garki, Abuja gave the advise during the annual thanksgiving service of the Church with the theme “Shouts of Joy and Victory”.

Reverend Tom Takpatore said it was by the mercy of God that the country remained one entity after the general election.

He admitted that Most Nigerians are passing through challenging times which he said was affecting homes.

According to him, the present economic situation had made many citizens to lose their jobs and means of livelihood thereby increasing the poverty level in the country.

The cleric therefore appealed to citizens to love, be patient and always assist each other especially the less privileged.

The service featured special prayers for peace and unity in the country.
