Government at all levels, Non Governmental Organizations and wealthy individuals have been urged to invest more in young women for economic development of the country.
An Entrepreneur, Mr Agaba Ikwue stated this in Abuja during a capacity building program for young women who would be deployed to empower rural women and young Nigerians across the six Geo Political Zones.
Mt Ikwue said there was need to focus attention on ways to develop the talents of rural women and expose them to new ways of life.
According to him, the young women will among other programs change the attitude and life style of rural women as well as help to curb maternal and child mortality.ALSO READ:FG Sets 3yr Plan To Resuscitate Ajaokuta Steel Company
Mr Ikwue explained that the organization has concluded arrangements to establish Rural Science Laboratories in all the Six Geo political zones as part of efforts to encourage the study of science and technology by primary and secondary school girls in rural areas.
The Philanthropist maintained that the only way to eradicate poverty in the country was to provide quality education and empowerment for widows in the villages.
He assured that the welfare of those selected for the rural emancipation program would be given special attention to enable the project succeed.
The leader of the team, Miss Grace Yakubu commended the initiative and pledged on behalf of others to carry out the assignment diligently.
According to her, the project will also enhance unity and peaceful coexistence in the country.
