To improve living conditions, boost morale, and enhance overall performance among officers of the Nigeria Police Force, their welfare must be prioritised.

To this end, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has emphasized the Force’s unwavering commitment to value every human life by ensuring the well-being of officers.

He stated this while presenting cheques to families of deceased Police Officers who tragically lost their lives between 2021 and 2023 at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

According to him, the presentation was part of the Group Life Assurance policy and the IGP’s Family Welfare Insurance Scheme, designed to provide financial support to families of officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving the Nation.

The Police Boss while recognising the sacrifices made by Officers and their families, expressed gratitude for their dedication to promoting peace and safety in Nigerian communities.

He further reaffirmed the Force’s determination to enhance welfare packages for all members of the Police family, regardless of their status, to create an environment where officers would feel valued, protected, and motivated to serve the nation.

IGP Egbetokun added that policies and agreements are under review to renovate and reconstruct existing Police Barracks and office accommodation infrastructure nationwide.

Earlier the Insurance Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Lydia Ameh, while reiterating the commitment of the force to ensure prompt payment of claims urged the insurance brokers to intensify efforts to sustain the move.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Gbenro Samuel appreciated the IGP and the entire police Force for bringing succour to their families.

Cheques worth over one point three billion Naira were disbursed to 420 families of the fallen heroes.
