President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has instructed all career and non-career ambassadors to return to Nigeria.
This was made known by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.
According to Tuggar, the recall was on the instruction of the President and that it was the prerogative of the President to send or recall ambassadors from any country.
President Tinubu earlier recalled the country’s envoy to the United Kingdom, Sarafa Ishola after his tenure expired as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the United Kingdom.
