Dr Omo-Obi said the event was timely and falls within the Nation’s renewed commitment to universal health coverage (UHC) by 2030 with the signing of the Health Insurance bill into law.

”It is noted that attainment of UHC would ensure all Nigerians can access essential quality health services without financial hardship.”

According to him, ”Options, a leading global health organization, is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary with a prestigious event with a high-level panel on unlocking health prosperity and Universal Health Coverage, (UHC), in Nigeria.”

‘We have made recommendations to ensure acceptance and implementation of the health policy, including making deductions mandatory and reaching out to the informal sector through tailored awareness campaigns and supported the establishment of a Social Health Insurance Scheme and contributed to the implementation of the National Health Insurance Authority(NHIA).”
